Learning on Vacation

The big ept morning took place at the Peiting plant on Tuesday, 31 July 2018. Each year, the city of Peiting gives school students a chance to take advantage of its summer vacation program. Students have two days to register for their desired program event – and ept’s was fully booked after just one hour! A total of 27 kids visited the company and built their own souvenirs. Dressed in ept t-shirts, 19 students interested in crafting tried their hand at constructing a treasure chest. 30 ept apprentices and four trainers were standing by to answer questions and help the participants with the trickier parts of their tasks. Eight of the students were taking part in the ept summer vacation program for the second or third time, giving them the chance to try out a more difficult project: constructing an ept cube with an integrated clock. Groups rotated through the different stations: turning, milling, drilling, filing, CNC milling, assembly, and lasering. Each student took to their work with deep concentration, able to keep a cool head despite the high temperatures thanks to the drinks provided by the company. Whoever needed a break had the chance to take part in a game of foosball at ept’s foosball table. At midday, participants were able to proudly present the fruits of their hard work to their parents.
